The Canal District in Amsterdam is my favorite hotspot because of the beautiful buildings, houseboats and all kind of people strolling by. It’s a neighbourhood where you can take a picture everywhere you stand. The most famous streets in this area are the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht and the Singel. Although you should not miss these authentic streets, there is so much more to discover! Walk around in the side streets like the Spiegelstraat for some special and exclusive shops. Satisfy your appetite at one of the great restaurants and book a room at the Hoxton or Andaz hotel for that special person and special night. Photography lovers should definitely visit photo museum FOAM. Or visit the Anne frank house to see where she hided during the second world war.
After enjoying all the beauty that our city has to offer you can end your day at hidden gem Tales & Spirits with cocktails and bites. Or go to one of the oldest brown café at the Prinsengracht café Pieper. I actually love this place because it is so cosy and you feel like you go back in time.
The canals are so much more than a touristic attraction, sometimes we forget how many unique hotspots there are. This is the area where you will fall in love with Amsterdam.
